Granada

Granada, the oldest colonial city in the American continent, was founded in 1524 by the Spanish conquistador Francisco Hernández de Córdoba, This city, an architectural jewel, offers the visitors a historic look of colonial Nicaragua.

 

Granada is the most important tourism destination in Nicaragua. It is located 25 miles south of Managua, 17 miles from the International Airport, 56 miles from the Costa Rican border and 31 miles from the most beautiful beaches in the Pacific.

Its main square, known as the Central Park, hosts a variety of activities for both local and tourists. Arts and crafts as well as typical food and music can be found daily. From the Central Park heading toward lake Cocibolca, Calle La Calzada offers a variety of restaurants and bars for all tastes. This makes Granada´s nightlife a unique experience.
